Serene Vacation in the Philippines

February 5th, 2012

I am very thankful that I have chosen to go to the east because of the cheap airline tickets to the Philippines. Last year, my job squeezed me so hard that I needed to take a quick break in order to revitalize my spirit. I found myself at the doorsteps of a travel agency in Toronto and their travel agents welcomed me with warmth. It happened to be a Filipino travel agency. Since I was so stressed, I really had no idea where to spend my vacation until the agent told me about the “Kadayawan” festival in Davao, Philippines. She told me that “Kadayawan” is a great festival for tourists -who are looking for relaxation- like me. The tickets and the tour package were so cheap so I gave it a go. When I got there, I was soothed by a different kind of serenity, it was crowded but I find it really peaceful. I took tons of pictures of their amazing floral floats. When I got home, I showed my photos to my office mates and they were all jealous. We will try to catch “Kadayawan” next year.

Getting a Card That Really Makes Sense

June 5th, 2011

Whenever I set out to get myself a jet card, there are a few things that I have to keep in mind. If I’m going to get one that doubles as a credit card, then I have to be sure that I’m going to have the self control to avoid really running it up. I have to have a little discussion with myself and make sure that I’m really ready to add another credit card to my wallet. If I decide that I’m going to be able to handle it, then I’ll go ahead and pick it up. I also like to make sure that my rewards are really attainable. If I’m going to bother with a reward-based credit card, then I better be able to earn the reward points without spending thousands of dollars. I mean, at the end of the day, I’m really not trying to run up a huge amount of debt on a credit card.
